Fun in the city

This is what Calgary looked like on our way home from the Bob Dylan concert. Apparently you have to stop to get a proper picture but I like these anyway:) We couldn't bring cameras into the concert:( so I don't have any pictures of Zimmy for you:( I was tempted to disobey. It was a great concert- he isn't the most interactive with the crowd and he is very very hard to understand with a full band (or without:) but I love just hearing his intonation, mumblings and really like it when he goes at it on the harmonica. So glad to have been able to see him....
When we were waiting for the concert to start we saw that Lenny Kravitz will be playing this weekend... back when I was quite young (18?) I went to a Lenny concert in Toronto with my girlfriend. It was a very entertaining show. So I thought it would be fun to go see him now, 16 years later. I have a feeling he'll be even better.... Well, there are still tickets left so Peter and Jon are taking me!!! Yay!!! There are some really nice things about being near a big city. Neil Diamond and Neil Young were just here too... those would have been great- but you can't see them all....

David's brother Mark and his daughter Mary are here this week from Nebraska and it is so fun having them around. Hard to believe Mary is only 12! I got carded this week- I'm not sure Mary would have... Didn't know which pictures to put on Char...I'll let you look through them later.. they are all good (Mark looks equally funny in them all:) We only have a couple more days with them around:( Time goes by too fast.
We went to see Bob Dylan as a group and have had lots of great time sitting around the table or in the living room. I so much appreciate being a part of the James Gang...

Where Daddy worked today...

After swimming lessons today, the boys had a special treat... we went to see Daddy next door at the arena. David usually works up near Red Deer building a new Best Western Hotel (not ALL by himself:) but today he was here in Three Hills. He painted the big white wall at the back- the boys liked his ladder!!!! He only had 15 minutes for a break but it was fun to be able to see him.

Sunday, October 26

Hi. I'm not really posting:) I'm just saying that we are ok cause some of you were getting a little worried....oops.
Just the normal wonderful life here- school, work, swimming lessons, gym, 2nd hand stores (nice ones in Three Hills:), groceries, tea with the girls... We really are enjoying this time though sometimes...
I just would love to walk down the street in Kyzyl and oh I don't know. It just is home there now- I can't tell you what it is about Tuva that I like (there must be some specific things... I think?!?) but I sure do miss it and look forward to going back...
We are in Calgary this weekend- just came back from a great dinner with some new friends (thanks Wing and Marlene) and tomorrow we will be back in Three Hills with family- including Mark (david's oldest brother), Mae, Mary and Alexander from Nebraska!!!! We are really excited about this next week, having them around.... I'll have to get a picture of all 7 James kids together. (did you know David has 3 brothers and 3 sisters!?)
Oh- and we are all going to see Bob Dylan on monday night... I'll see if my zoom will get a good one of him for you:)
I'm going to bed but just wanted to say thanks for checking in on us, and sorry that you've had nothing to read here for a bit. I'll take some pictures and get back to it soon.
Oh ya- we are coming to Thunder Bay mid November!!!! Yay!!!! I'll give you all specific dates soon- looking forward to seeing you all there again...

Warm Day 18C!

It is very sunny and warm today so we went to enjoy some time outside at one of the nicer playgrounds in town. There are so many fun things for us to do around town- not enough time in the day to do them all- quite different then in Tuva.

Swimming Lessons

Huddy standing funny (he doesn't like how wet shorts feel between his legs- he walks really funny around the pool:), Josiah next to him then Ethan and on the far right is Journey!

The boys are taking swimming lessons with their cousins Ethan and Journey. They love it so far- the teacher didn't make them put their heads all the way under yet:) They loved making bubbles though and being a bit more daring in the water. They (like their mother) don't like getting their eyes/faces wet very much...

Josiah and Hudson's Preschool Class

Today I went with the boys to their preschool class- the teachers usually ask the parents to come one day- today was Huddy's day to be the special helper so it was fun to see him being in charge of things. The boys had show and tell (they do every week- running out of things to show, especially interesting things. Today they just brought some toys) They really love school- I can understand why...so many toys and stories and sweet kids to play with. It was fun to spend the morning there with them.

We're back!!!

I'll be putting on a LOT of pictures because the mountains were just soooo beautiful. We had an incredibly relaxing weekend- thankyou so so much Charlotte!!! We spent a lot of time hiking, thinking, talking, reading, resting and just staring at the beautiful landscape. It was a perfect weekend....
