It's been pretty hot lately...so on saturday we took a walk down to the beach...it was so nice down there- the water was pretty warm and the sun wasn't too strong we thought! it was pretty cloudy but David and I both came home with red backs! We haven't been in the sun much this year...maybe we'll get some more in this week though as my language helper is out of town so we'll have more time for the beach :)

David's latest adventure...
Hi! These next few posts are from david's last week. He went on a little adventure down in Southern Tuva with his buddy Slava (pictured above). The whole family was going to go but it would have been $$$$ (cause we couldn't just hitchhike along like they did :) and David is so glad we didn't go after he realized how hard it was. David is a great hiking/camping/adventurer type but this was a very difficult hike. And it took 2 days of waiting around in stranger's yurts and stuff like that that is also more difficult on the rest of us. Maybe we'll have our own car sometime soon so we can bring comforts from home and go places when WE want to:) They hiked up and down what seems like hundreds of mountains- almost got all the way into Mongolia (though that wouldn't be a good idea:) But in the pictures you can see lakes and mountains that are actually in Mongolia and though they didn't show up in the pictures David could actually see towns as well. They really hiked hard- the ground for maybe 3 kms was jagged loose rocks like you'll see in some of the pictures. So hard on your ankles having each step a different angle. They hiked soooooooooo far :) But they did it and it was great fun for them- lots of great conversations of course. They tented as well and stopped to make Tea like all good Tuvans do :) I was impressed to see how many pictures David took- and even with his little camera they turned out so good! so enjoy the pics! Thanks for checking in on us all the time!
