A little update on Emma's heart...

When we took Emma to Kindergarten in Russia we discovered that she has WPW syndrome (they are very thorough with their little pre-school health check there, we would never had found out that she has any ...problem with her heart here in Canada which is both good and bad:). Anyway, she still has absolutely no symptoms, never any pain, dizziness or fast heart beat even when she is running around like crazy. So, because she is already almost 11! yikes! the doctor is fairly sure that Emma will never have any problems due to WPW but it is always possible that later in life something would develop.
We have to make a decision between two minor procedures. One option is to go in through her nasal passage down to her heart to run a test, which will determine whether it is simply a cosmetic thing (that she will always be symptom free and we can technically not worry about it) or whether it is more of a risk and should be operated on. The second option is to go in and do the test through the leg (a super small hole, not even needing stiches) which is a bit more invasive and has a little bit of a recovery time but the positive thing is that they can just get rid of the extra tissue if it is easily accessible and then she would be WPW free and so we could for SURE never worry about it.

We will make a decision shortly, we will probably have the operation/procedure in the fall. If you'd like to know more about Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome wikipedia it, it's kind of hard to explain:) We are glad that we found out about it and can get it taken care of while we are here in Canada. We'll keep you all updated...

David the Farmer

David has been spending long days at his sister's farm.  It's a VERY busy time of the year out there...so much to do in the fields...   He has really been enjoying it..especially driving around big trucks/tractors etc.  He even has a bit of a farmer's tan:)  Yesterday the kids and I went out there to take pictures (ok, that part is just me), play with the baby puppies, enjoy all the farming fun and make dinner for all the family/workers out there.  So that is why you are seeing so many barn/livestock pictures :)

We spent the majority of the weekend in David's Mom's backyard.  David built a deck on Saturday so there was a deck to sit on for our Mother's Day BBQ.  It was way too hot to sit on the deck though...funny.   So we all sat in the shade of a tree and admired the deck from a distance :)   Lots of pictures of the weekend coming soon....this is just one of my favourite flowers from her garden.
