Tuvan Wrestling

As Emma and I were wandering around town today, I noticed that there was some Tuvan wresting going on. I LOVE watching it- they play cool Tuvan music and the atmosphere is just so hmmm interesting. Anyway- good thing spring is here so it is warm enough for these outfits eh:)

Emma and I watched for an hour or so. We stood out at the stadium as only Tuvan men were there today except for a few Tuvan women (maybe the wives of the wrestlers). It was good for language study as all the commentary and music and conversations were in Tuvan instead of Russian.
I'll put all the pics I took on facebook for those of you who would like more action shots etc.

Picnic

I won't put on all 100?!?! pictures that I took on our picnic but here are a few. It was so great to be out with our co-workers- it was so beautiful, relaxing, quiet (except when the horses charge by:) and warm. We are so glad we live in such a beautiful place and have such great friends to work with. Today was even warmer (26C) but yesterday was much sunnier so we are glad we had our picnic yesterday.

An old friend...

This is funny. at least to me. Our co-workers and us went on a picnic today- it's been almost 2 years since we last went. Last time we were suprised to see a camel on the way out so today we were joking that we would see the camel again. Well we did! Here he is- a little shaggier than last time but it was a different season...so funny that we would bump into him again. made my day:) click HERE to see the picture of him from 2 years ago. he is such a handsome guy don't you think. I like how he showed a little teeth in the third picture- trying to be a good subject:) funny looking things aren't they. so are we sometimes. well often.

Baseball

Today the forecast said 20C but it won't get to that I'm sure. But Sat/Sunday should be 24C...i hope it is!!! The kids and I enjoyed bringing out the baseball gloves that we brought back from Canada. I tried my best to teach the boys to throw (hopefully not like a girl:). Baseball is not well known here at all- so the other kids were quite fascinated by our gloves and the ball itself. We'll have to teach them all to play sometime- better if it's a day where David is around:)

The river is open...

It's a little too cool today for a swim but we were still excited to see that all the ice is gone from the river. We had fun playing on the ice that is left on the shore. This week has been a little cooler- no t-shirts but still we are enjoying the warmer temps- no more boots and scarves and mitts and winter hats. makes getting outside so much easier.

Spring Cleaning...

Today I cleaned yet another set of windows to get the coal off them- it takes about 2 hours for each window. I only have one set left to do now...phew. But I was still in cleanup mode so I cleaned up the boys. They were really really needing a haircuts as you can see:) They love it- they can't stop rubbing their heads cause they feel like beards... I bet they weigh less now...
