Batman Turns 5!!!
We aren't really celebrating little batman's (aka Hudson Ezekiel James) birthday until David returns cause he's bringing a present:) but we did have a little fun today. Huddy really wanted pizza and he wanted it to be an H so we did it. He has been wearing his batman outfit for 33 hours now. I hardly remember what Huddly Buddly looks like. Can't believe our youngest is 5!!! that isn't very young....
Sunday, January 24
David requested more pictures....
He misses us... we thought he might:) He requested especially some pictures of Hudson (aka Batman) cause tomorrow Huddy turns 5!!! Crazy that our youngest is 5!!!
Huddy was dressed up all day in his batman outfit...our bed is the batmobile. when he finally took off his mask he was exhausted...
Emma's friends came over today- the oldest girl Vika usually hangs out with me, looking at pictures on the computer usually...speaking in a mix of Russian and Tuvan. kinda fun. but mentally draining at times...I can't just listen half heartedly if you know what i mean or else for sure i won't know what she was asking:) She is a sweet young lady... so glad we are still connected with these girls from our old apartment. They were here for 4 1/2 hours today! They will be back tomorrow I think. The schools have been closed because it's been even colder than -40C. they cancel school in these temps.
Josiah took many of these.. he is really into taking pictures lately. He does pretty good. He asked if I could take one of his spider-man picture. he has memorized how to spell it and is stuck in a rut with his artwork. but it's cute. I even let him put it on the fridge for a day- I'm one of those clean fridge people. sorry.

7 more days till David comes home!!!!!
Update from Thailand
David and Jon (not pictured) are having a great time! They are currently in the Phrae tribe in the hills of Northern Thailand. They are helping out with a coffee project, digging, mixing cement, pouring concrete, picking coffee....lots of work and David is LOVING it. We don't get to do much physical work here (except when we try to fix up our apartments:), but maybe after we are done our Tuvan Language studies we will be able to do something similar- of course not coffee...Siberia isn't quite designed for that:)
Next they will head back down near Bangkok to relax a bit on the beaches before David has to leave to come back here. Doesn't look like he has a tan yet... he better have some time to work on that before coming home!
The food as you know is SOOOO good...he's loving it. They even had tadpoles (yes, as in baby frogs:) with some spicy sauce. And he keeps mentioning really good pineapple and dragon fruit...

Pictures from Thailand
The conference started today- so he'll be in meetings for the next few days...though I'm sure they'll still get some pool time and LOTS of good Thai foods. He says it's SOOOO good. and when you have fruit there it's not just apples and oranges!!!! Wow!!!
It's been around +30C there I think...just nice. It's been around -30C here I know...just ice.

Ice Park
Though it isn't half as nice as it has been in previous years- there is another icepark this year next to the Museum (the building with the gold top) It is where the boys went sliding on Josiah's birthday when it was -45C... we've all been wanting to go again so I decided to take the kids today since it is a bit warmer out..only -30C!!! Heatwave eh!?! :)
We had a lot of fun though still we only lasted about 40 minutes. I should say I only lasted that long...the kids could have stayed much longer but I was urging them on... finally I asked if they wanted to go get some apples at the store and that did it- they LOVE apples:)
What is really funny is that David is at this very moment wandering around the hot humid (30C+) streets in Bangkok, Thailand. He called me (very quickly as it is $$$$ to call from there) while he was cooling off in a park, sipping a bag of pepsi. Hope he took a picture of the bag of pepsi... He was going to see the Grand Palace or something like that. And then he'd be going to pick up his brother Jon at the airport and they can start their adventures together. First up will be a day at the beach I believe, and then they will head up to Chiang Mai for the real reason David is in Thailand- a conference. Then they will have another week and a bit to explore a bit. I'll let you know what he's up to as I find out. So glad he could go- I'm sure it is beautiful!!!

Josiah's birthday party
Josiah had a great day- we found him some REAL lego. very tricky to find here and very $$$ as well but it is so good- and will last forever. I'm tired of buying things that break...almost all the toys we bought at christmas are already broken. always the case here. So I say spending 4 times as much is worth it- just buy less things but things that last. like LEGO:) the kids have been playing with it non stop since his birthday party.
Ya- it is cold. today the forecast said a low of -52C (probably right now during the night) but with the windchill -39C! funny eh. I figure when it's really cold the windchill makes it feel warmer than it really is:)
We have a few days left before David heads off to Thailand for a conference- he will have quite the change in climate!!!! I'm hoping he has some time to get a tan- he'll look so funny here when he comes back!
That's Huddly Buddly in the Batman costume. He LOVES Batman. kinda likes his costume. He doesn't think it looks like it should...he's so picky. Josiah LOVES Spiderman and his costume. He is not so picky:)
