Mongun-Taiga Expedition

David was asked to be involved in an expedition with the Russian Geographic Society.  Only 4 climbed up to the summit.. David may have been the first Canadian to climb the mountain of 3976m.  Too bad he didn't have a flag with him :)   Two of the other climbers are part of the Seven Summits Club.  They have already climbed the highest mountain on 5 continents, they just have Antarctica and Asia (Everest!) left.

Trip Down South

This past weekend we went down south to a really nice lake.  The other side
of the lake is actually in Mongolia!  We really enjoyed our time with our friends Era, Aidash and their little boys Aidiir and Norbu.  They were our first friends in Tuva so it is always so great to be with them.  Such a beautiful sandy spot and clean water.

English Camp

We helped out with a little English Camp this summer...just a few mornings a we still have our own language learning to do :)  We were glad to make some new friends.  And even though Huddy looks like the sounds were unpleasant, they did great.  The two girls with the guitars LOVE the Beatles so we had fun singing with them.

Happy Belated July the 4th!  And of course July 1st :)  No, we aren't forgetting we are Canadian.. (though David and Josiah are also American)   My american co-worker and I held a July the 4th party at her house.  We had fun making american cakes... I didn't taste either cause I don't like cake but I'm sure they were excellent!  We had lots of fun with our tuvan/russian friends discussing food and american culture.  Good times.
