Until we get a car....

Not a nice beach day :)

so it was very warm today and we thought it would be perfect to spend the evening throwing rocks into the river, tanning a bit and wading in the water.  but we were completely surrounded by mosquitos so we lasted about 2 minutes.  crazy things.  ouch.

Well, we did it.  We found a new home for Kenya...   we knew we'd have to do it sometime and had hoped it would have been earlier on before we fell in love with her too much but it didn't work out that way at all... she is now living in the center with an older tuvan couple guarding their yard/house and hopefully protecting them and not biting them!  We can go visit her which is great but we will sure miss having her here with us...  We all know it is easier now than to wait another year (when we will be coming home for a visit and need to find her a home).  It will probably be hardest on Emma as Kenya was the "sister" she always wanted... :) Our neighbours will find it strange not to be barked at anymore as they walk by our balcony for sure!   And what do I do with all our leftovers and meat bones/fat/scraps!?!?!

Emma is a very happy girl...here she is enjoying her birthday gift from mommy and daddy!  Not too long ago Emma was a little sad thinking of things that she hasn't ever done that your average kid in Canada would regularily be doing.  One of these is riding a bike.  They aren't the cheapest gifts to say the least and in an apartment not exactly something that fits so easy :) but despite these factors and the lack of smooth concrete roads we couldn't resist.   She skipped the training wheels and is already a pro after 2 rides!  She is soooo excited...  and I LOVE watching her zoom around.  There is a school near us that has a great running track for her to bike away but she isn't stopped by the potholes and speed bumps and gravel either....  

Now the next thing on her list of things she'd love to learn how to do....swim.  This is trickier as there isn't a swimming pool here.  hmmm....
